The core technology of the can sealing machine is the double-rolling method. This process uses the successive rolling of the first and second rollers to hook and press the rounded edge of the lid with the flange of the can body, ultimately forming a five-layer tightly interlocking structure with sealant filling the gaps, thus ensuring the airtightness of the container and effectively extending the shelf life of the contents.
Based on the degree of automation and structural characteristics, can sealing machines are mainly divided into the following categories:
Semi-automatic can sealing machines: These are typically single-station operations, requiring manual placement of the can and lid. The sealing rollers are driven manually, pneumatically, or electrically to complete the rolling seal. These types of equipment are simple in structure, low in cost, and easy to debug, making them suitable for small-batch production, multi-product switching, or laboratory research and development scenarios. Common examples include manual and pneumatic can sealing machines, with production speeds typically ranging from 15 to 30 cans per minute.
Fully Automatic Can Sealing Machines: These machines can automatically complete the entire process of can feeding, capping, sealing, and discharging. They are usually connected to filling machines to form an automated production line. Based on the movement of the can during the sealing process, they can be divided into two types: rotating can body type and rotating sealing knife type. Fully automatic models have high production efficiency, with single-head machines reaching speeds of 25-50 cans per minute, while multi-head high-speed models (such as 4-head, 6-head, 12-head, or even 18-head models) can reach speeds of 250-1750 cans per minute, meeting the needs of large-scale industrial production.
Specialty Can Sealing Machines: Designed to meet specific process requirements, these mainly include vacuum can sealing machines and vacuum nitrogen-filled can sealing machines. These machines first evacuate the air from the can within a sealed chamber, then fill it with a protective gas such as nitrogen if necessary, and finally seal the can under vacuum or a protective atmosphere. This effectively reduces residual oxygen levels inside the can, making it particularly suitable for oxidation-sensitive products such as milk powder, coffee, and health supplements, significantly extending shelf life.
Modern can sealing machines are generally made of SUS304 stainless steel, meeting food-grade hygiene requirements. Advanced models also feature intelligent functions such as no-can-no-cap, capless roll-sealing protection, servo motor-driven roll-sealing wheels, touchscreen control, and quick changeover, ensuring stable sealing quality and convenient operation.
